He saw her in her shop one day
That tall handsome banana
He only went in to buy a trinket
But ended up with a bandana
Though the bandana, you see, was only a simile
For at the sight of the sweet little cherry
He was blinded and dumbstruck by sudden love
All he saw were her beautiful scarlet curves
As he approached and proposed that they be married
At first she laughed and thought it a joke
But every day his romantic intentions to her he wrote
He sent her poems and songs, but nothing too much
For as a fruity troubadour, he was mostly broke
Eventually she was wooed and fell in love with him
So he hired an old pear pastor
And they were finally wed
Then lived happily ever after<i>

A couple days ago, I decided to take part in the Secret Gift Giver Project! [link]
I was to make a deviation for , so here it is, a (hopefully) cute little free verse poem!
The poem was based on her answers to the prompt, which were (as quoted from her journal entry for the project):
1. If you were a fruit living in a fantasy fruity land, what fruit would you be?
A ripe red cherry. Cute, small, and sweet, but bite me too hard and you'll break your tooth.
2. What kind of job would you have there?
I'd run a kitschy little gift shop, selling random, interesting junk.
3. What fruit would you have as a bf/gf there?
A tall, sturdy banana. He's nice and laid-back, but will occasionally do a sexy banana-dance for me.
4. What kind of romance would you have with him/her?
Adorably soppy and romantic. We surprise each other with chocolates, love poems, and midnight serenades. Sometimes we go dancing in the rain.
We had to come up with a sentence based on the answers, so mine was: The banana wooed the cherry in her shop with music and gifts.
Hope you like it, twinklebug, m'dear! ^.=.^ <3
(The cherry is a stock image from google and is not mine.)
